PET Acoustic Ceiling Baffle 12mm 2400x400mm Grey Hanging Sound Absorber

Our 12mm grey PET acoustic ceiling baffle is a suspended sound absorber designed for open ceilings and exposed structure commercial interiors. Cut from 100% recycled polyester fiber, it is thermally bonded and entirely formaldehyde-free. The long 2400*400mm format hangs vertically on standard wire cables, providing absorption on both sides for exceptional efficiency. With an NRC of 0.85 per baffle, a row of these dramatically shortens reverberation time in large, cavernous spaces like atriums and industrial-style offices. The dark grey color complements exposed ductwork and concrete. At just 2.7 kg/m², the baffle is lightweight for safe overhead suspension. It meets Class B1 fire rating and OEKO-TEX certification.

Trendy industrial offices and restaurants with high, open ceilings have a major acoustic flaw: sound bounces between hard concrete floors and exposed ceiling decks. Wall panels alone cannot capture all the vertical reflections. Suspended PET baffles solve this by absorbing sound in the middle of its path, intercepting noise before it reaches ears across the room. They preserve the open-ceiling aesthetic while making conversations intelligible and the atmosphere comfortable.

Sound waves strike the vertical baffle faces from both sides. The porous PET absorbs energy, reducing the total sound field in the room. Because the baffles hang in open space, they intercept reflections that would otherwise travel across the entire ceiling void.

Use baffles when ceiling treatment is desirable but a full suspended ceiling grid is not visually or practically feasible. The spacing and number of baffles can be designed using acoustic modeling. Generally, covering 40-60% of the ceiling area with baffles achieves excellent results.

1. Are the hanging wires included?

   Yes, each baffle comes with pre-attached mounting points and a standard wire kit. Custom lengths are available.

2. Will the baffle swing with air movement?

   They have sufficient mass to resist minor drafts. In areas with strong HVAC airflow, we can add small stabilizing weights.

3. Can I cut baffles to a custom length on site?

   Yes, they cut easily. Edges can be left exposed, as the dense felt does not fray.
